Easy handling
Ropes made with Dyneema weigh only a fraction of equally strong steel wire and synthetic ropes. The lightweight makes ropes made with Dyneema particularly easy to handle. This results in reduced mooring times up to 50% and higher, crew reduction, less back- and hand injuries, and a lower risk potential.

Higher durability
Mooring and towing ropes made with Dyneema have an increased service life when compared to both steel wire and synthetic ropes. Numerous examples at a broad range of end-customers have proven that the lifetime is typically 2 4 times the lifetime of other rope materials, the exact lifetime being dependent on the specific situation.

Low energy storage
Ropes made with Dyneema have a low elongation, falling to less than 3% at break for a used rope. The low elongation results in a low energy storage level in the rope, which leads to hardly any backlash of the rope in case of failure. Using ropes made with Dyneema minimizes the risk potential for crew working on board the ships.

Less maintenance
Dyneema is a synthetic material. Therefore, ropes made with Dyneema do not need a lot of maintenance. Greasing of the rope is not necessary, as is the case for steel wire. Ropes made with Dyneema do not damage chocks, bits, fairleads and other parts of the ship nor do they pollute the deck of the ship or the environment due to the absence of grease.
